Vidic our next Club Captain?

With Gary Neville in the twilight of his magnificent career, and Ryan Giggs also coming close to ending his wonderful time at United, the issue will soon arise as to who should be given the title of club captain once the likes of Neville and Giggs are gone. Ferdinand, Rooney and Fletcher are being suggested as possible replacements, but is it possible that Fergie is grooming the Serbian superstar Vidic to become the next club captain at Manchester United?

I for one think that he has the personal attributes required to captain this great club. Our last 5 captains, Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Gary Neville, have all been tough and loyal players, and Vidic would certainly fit in well with those names.

Vidic has worn the captain's armband before at United, and he was captain at Red Star Belgrade for 3 years. The experience of leading the team is certainly there.

Whilst it is unlikely, given the fact that there are many possibilities for the role, Vidic is most definately worthy of consideration when it comes time to choose the next captain of this great club.

  1. my prefered choice would be Darren Fletcher tbh he has worked his way to being the best midfielder in the league at what he does
although Vidic is worthy of consideration like you say

  2. tbh i think we will see Fletcher given the role, and rightly so, although it will certainly be a tough dilemma for Fergie. that's because there will be a few others, like Vidic as i mentioned, who could also do the job quite well.
